What is Magic Dam?

The main sheet of the Magic Dam MD-01 is made of polyester mesh fabric sandwiched between two polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sheets, making it completely waterproof. The partition fabric connecting the upper and lower sheets fixes the opening angle at approximately 27 degrees, so the standing sheet acts as a wall and can withstand water pressure.

Furthermore, the ratio of maximum height to visibility when the seats are open is 1:4, providing ample livability in the lower seats, and the seats are fixed to the floor by water pressure from above. Additionally, metal plate weights attached to mesh bags at the edges prevent water from seeping in through gaps. A urethane float is attached to the upper edge of the seats, which rises as the water level rises, preventing water from seeping in from above.

1. Special three-dimensional shape blocks water

When water seeps into the Magic Dam from the front, the upper sheet floats on the water and opens naturally, and when it opens to about 27 degrees, it locks in place. This is because the partition sheet connects the upper and lower sheets, and the upper sheet, which is fixed at an acute angle, suppresses the force of the flowing water.

2.Fixed to the ground using only water pressure

The lower sheet has a sufficient surface area proportional to the sheet's height, so that it can be pressed against the ground by the water pressure of the water above it. This means that the sheet can be fixed to the ground without the need for sandbags, and even if water does flow in, it can prevent flooding.

3.Urethane floats allow the device to rise with the water level and stand on its own

The urethane foam float at the top of the seat causes the top of the seat to rise as the water level rises, so there is no need to worry about water leaking out from above.

4. The weight at the bottom prevents it from floating up

The bottom edge of the sheet has a metal plate inside the mesh that acts as a weight, which keeps it in close contact with the ground, preventing the bottom sheet from floating up due to water flow and preventing water from seeping in from below.

5.Can be connected to the required length

The two ends of the sheet have hook-and-loop fasteners sewn between them, allowing them to be securely connected to a Magic Dam of the same size by pinching the ends together. By preparing multiple Magic Dams, you can create a dam of the required length to suit the width of the road or the size of the building.

6. Vehicles can pass through

If roads are blocked with sandbags, vehicles cannot pass through. However, the Magic Dam maintains its shape due to the water that is blocked, so vehicles can climb over it. This allows evacuation vehicles and emergency rescue vehicles to pass through.

7. Quick and easy installation

All you have to do is stretch and spread the rolled sheet, so it can be set up quickly and easily by one to three people in a much shorter time and with less effort than sandbag piling.
